As a travel agent who specializes in Disney travel, I thrive on immersing myself in the magical experiences Walt Disney World offers, especially their seasonal events. Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is one of my favourites, and it’s no surprise why—this festive event kicks off Halloween celebrations as early as August! This timing is a perfect bonus for families like mine, with kids ages 5, 4, and 2, as it allows us to enjoy Halloween fun without disrupting school schedules. Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party takes place from 7:00 PM to midnight, and runs on select dates from August 9th, 2024 to October 31st, 2024.
Here’s how we made the most of our night at Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, and some tips to help you and your little ones have a memorable experience.
**Arriving Early: Your Key to a Magical Night**

Even though the party officially starts at 7 PM, you can enter Magic Kingdom as early as 4 PM. This early arrival is crucial for families with young children. Upon entry, you’ll receive a special bracelet and a candy bag—yes, trick-or-treating is part of the fun! You’ll also get a booklet with a map highlighting candy stations, exclusive character meet-and-greets, and other event details.
**Maximizing Your Time: Rides, Snacks, and Character Meet-and-Greets**
From 4 to 7 PM, use this time to enjoy some of Magic Kingdom’s rides, grab snacks, and start lining up for character meet-and-greets. We used mobile ordering to pick up our favourite treats and sampled some Halloween-exclusive snacks. Some of these treats are available only during the party, while others are offered from August through October during regular park hours.

Some of the exclusive character meet-and-greets start at 7 PM, so if you have younger kids, prioritize one or two characters. We made sure to meet Minnie, Daisy, Donald, and Goofy, who were all together in their adorable Halloween costumes. This made it easy for us to get photos in one go.
**Finding the Best Viewing Spot for Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade**
The Boo-to-You Parade at 8:15 PM is a must-see. For families with young children, I recommend attending the earlier show. We found a great spot with the help of friendly guests who let our kids get a closer look. The parade was delightfully spooktacular, and my boys were entranced by the Halloween-themed floats and characters, our personal favourite was Captain Jack Sparrow and Captain Barbossa.
**Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular and Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular Fireworks**
After the parade, we secured a spot for the Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular at 9:05 PM, right in front of Cinderella’s Royal Castle. Try to get a spot close to the stage for the best view, especially if you have little ones.

Following the show, we began our trick-or-treating adventure. We hit a few spots in Tomorrowland before making our way back around the castle to find a good viewing location for the fireworks.
The Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular Fireworks display at 10:00 PM was nothing short of spectacular. The Halloween-themed graphics on Cinderella’s Castle were incredible, and the boys were absolutely mesmerized by the show.
**Shopping and Final Tips**
After the fireworks, we took our time shopping for exclusive merchandise. I found some exclusive party pins to add to our collection and other party-themed items. To avoid the crowds, I recommend saving your shopping for the end of the night. This way, you can take your time without the rush of others leaving the park.

There’s so much to see and do at the party, from ride overlays and dance parties such as the Disney Jr. Jam at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café and the DescenDANCE Party at Rockettower Plaza Stage. We passed through several of these areas and found the kids thoroughly entertained by the decorations, music, and, of course, the candy.
